i have a 20g tank with 2 angels but i have a feeling one of them isnt going to make it much longer. if he passes what should i put in with the other one?

i was thinking maybe a pair of dwarf gouramis or some other type of gourami

what are your ideas?

thanks,
Troy

would some dwarf gouramis be good? like maybe 4? or is that too many? i was thinking about getting 4 and leaving it at that.

or should i get two?

also.....

are they easy to take care of? would the average aquarist be able to take care of them?

thanks,
Troy

dwarf gouramis, like most anabantids, can be aggressive against males of their own kind due to territory. 2 dwarf gouramis in a 20 gallon should be as high as you go, and there may still be some risks.

about how easy they are, gouramies are great for beginners. theyre really easy fish. mines never gotten sick. the only thing you have to worry about is if theyre getting enough food because theyre so slow and other fish beat them to it, but with angels thats not a problem.

i think 4 to a 20 gallon tank is pushing it. better off with 2 or 3

alright thanks.

thank you so much guys for your help.

it looks like i may be putting the sicker angel down because he can hardly swim now. i will wait uneil tomorrow and see what happens. ill cycle the tank for about a week and then see about adding 2 or 3 dwarf gouramis.

thanks again guys,
Troy
