I had some corals at the start came with the LR but bough a racoon butterfly and well you know the rest of the story, he is gone know died about 5 months ago some of the corals have started to grow back.
Leave the smaller fish in my 55 gal take out the yellow and blue hippo tangs move to the new tank that way I can get a Porc. puffer and may be the trigger, that there will be larger fish only and maybe a couple more what do you think about that.
I went to a different LFS and they said for a FO that you don't need LR use a wet/dry filter Protein skimmer with a micron filter what are your thoughs. Totaly opposite of what I've read and been told
can totally be done but is much better with live rock and the wet dry method is way old and doesn't really do what its saposed to do. also the micron socks tend to work well for pulling out muck but they become nitrate sponges if not cleaned weekly and also reduce flow a bit.
I think what I'm going to do is buy a wet/dry sump with protein skimmer the one from my LFS has a extra sump that I will turn into a refuge, I will also take the bio balls out and replace it with LR. I wish I could just set the damm thing up and not try to second guess all the time LOL.
