I'm going to be stocking my new 30 gallon in a few weeks after cycling. So I need to run my ideas of fish by some experts and see if its a good idea. Nothing fancy really. I know I want a school of either neon tetras or cardinal tetras. I love cories so I would like to have a few of those and I would also like to try otto's. And I want one bigger colorful fish, so I was thinking about a male betta. I've been doing research and most people say 1 male betta is fine with tetras. And the tetras just need a big enough school so they wouldn't be interested in nipping at the betta. So is this a good combination and can someone help me with how many of each?
Also, I already have a 10 gallon setup with 5 male guppies, 2 glass catfish and 3 cory cats. (I know glass catfish are supposed to be in groups of 5. There were originally 5 when they belonged to a friend, but a few died and she didn't want them anymore so I took them so that she wouldn't kill them.)
Is this tank stocked all the way? I was also thinking that if the betta wouldn't work in the 30 gallon, I could move the guppies to the 30 gallon and put a betta in the 10 gallon. I've really started to like betta's and I want to save one from those little containers.
Anyway, all suggestions are welcome. I was an art major so I'm used to constructive critisism.
