Stocking New Tank

Well, I have almost completed the fishless cycling and will be ready to start stocking my first tank soon.

I have a couple of ideas of some fish to stock it with, but wanted to get everyone's opinion and suggestions. This is what I'm currently considering:

6 Zebra Danios
2 Corys (False Julii or Sterbai)

I would like to have one or two center piece fish and had thought about Blue Gouramis. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

The tank is a 23 gallon with a gravel substrate.

Agree, 6 on the cory with a nice angel or DG
 
Zebras make me dizzy!

Incase you haven't had them before. They are constantly going, somewhere.

I'm sure alot of people have'm and love'm. ;)
 
i also agree upping the cories to at least 6.
and i'd go for a pair of german blue rams as the centerpiece or maybe a pearl gourami.
i'm pretty sure the pearl gourami would work, but you'd have to ask around about that.
 
6 Corys sounds good to me.

I'm okay with the potential dizziness from the Zebras, although my wife may disagree with that. :)

How many Dwarf Gourami would you recommend if I did those instead of the Blue Gourami?
 
two or three would be real nice, you could do a few more, but just make sure you maintain a 1:3 male to female ratio.
 
My Zebras were all over the tank until I went planted. Now that I have lots of plants they are relaxed and just explore all day. I miss the schooling behavior though.
 
My buddy got longfin leopard danios.. in his 29g with 6 cory's.. very very fun tank to watch.. about 10 danios.. btw he has alot of fry aswell.. the leopards breed like stink.
 
I have danios and they are great fish. They aren't tight schoolers like tetras or rasboras, but they are so much fun to watch explore and play. I totally recommend them. :)
