I posted a thread earlier about a 10g stocking but people are telling me i should have my grandpa get a larger one. Im sure he'll go for a 20g. Any stocking options i can give him?

Basically anything good for a 10g, with a few more options. You can add one more "unit of fish to a 20g, IE instead of 1 betta and 6 neon tetras, you could do 1 Betta, 6 neon tetras and 3 otos.

Arent Otos a more difficult fish to care for? remember, my grandpa is completly new at this. closest he's been about fish is fishing in his various friends ponds/lakes

I was just giving an example so you could get an idea about what a "unit" of fish was.

Oh ok thank you. What about some type of Syndontis Catfish, or a catfish with long tendrils out of his mouth? i know he's fond of those types of catfish

SA Bumblebees are fairly common and would fill his desire for those kinds of catfish well, although it would pretty much exclude any small schooling fish.

i am really new like your grandpa so i went with platies and fancy guppies. they seem pretty easy to take care of the fry are really neat to watch grow. there is the problem of finding homes for all the fry. i'm sure there are lots of other fancier fish but i really like mine a lot.

i also have 2 amano shrimp and a mystery snail along with some smaller snails that came with one of my plants. very easy to take care of so far and lots of action.
