Six is just a number that people think. I have kept both danios and white clouds in groups of four without any problems. They are perfectly happy. Tetras are a bit different though and I would say five is a good number, but the more the merrier

LOL It's not that the will die with few or only one, just that they will be unhappy and shy etc. Only if they stop eating which I doubt would hapen could they die
oh, great, then that means i just suck at fish-keeping, and should give up now before i kill an entire tank full :grinyes:

so, how's this sound for a 16-gallon planted tank?
6 Harlequin Rasboras
6 White Cloud Mountain Minnows (or Cherry Barbs, if the minnows can't handle the warmer water)
2 Red Flame Dwarf Gourami
3 Khuli loaches
and a bunch of Ghost Shrimp (not sure how many would be best)

^^ The minnows will be fine. They're okay up to 75 degrees, which works for tropicals.
