I've got a 21 gallon planted and currently I have 5 Black Skirt Tetras and 2 Cory cats.

I really like to put a couple of Rams in, however, the BST are very nippy and if the Rams are bubble nesting (assuming one male and one female), they'll get too aggressive. Maybe Rams are not the best for this tank.

How about 2 Boesman Rainbows? Or a pair of Congo tetras?

I'm looking for 2-3 that grow to max size of 3-4 inches each....what do you guys/gals suggest?

My water parameters are pH 8.0 and is mod. hard and kept at 78F (26C).

Water parameters don't sound great for blue rams, but bolivian rams would do fine. I wouldn't worry about the tetras, I think the bolivians can hold thier own. Make sure if you want to breed you get bolivians that are at least 2inches. they are late bloomers. If you buy the little ones i've seen in so many stores you could be waiting for close to a year for them to spawn.

Also, my BST ignore most of the other fish in the tank and mainly pick on each other. Yours may be different, but they might not be too much of a problem, plus they've never really done any damage to each other

Thanks for the suggestion, mooman....the Bolivian Ram is a very good looking fish and I will definitely consider it.

Holly...it's good to know that your BST are peaceful with other types of fish. Mine have only been with the cories and they totally ignore the cories and the cories ignore them as well. And yes, it's true that they pick on each other, but never to any serious degree. They are fun to watch though.

Actually, now that I think about it, my molly harrasses alot of the other fish including the BST and they try to get away from it :dog:
