I currently have 7 adult zebra danios in a cycled 23 gallon tank. I'm going to add 3 more tonight and am hoping to breed them in a seperate 10 gallon. I was wondering what fish go well with danios and how many I should get?

I am always interested in fancy guppies but I have heard different opinions about fin-nipping and such so I might just keep them in a seperate tank.

So a species for danios, water temp 24.5 celcius (76F) and pH of 7.0 to 7.5 plz :)

I have bosemani rainbows and cory catfish in with my danios. You will want to avoid gouramis since they don't like the manic activity. Many fish types will go with the danios.

well danios can live with quite a few fish but as brianfl mentioned they are very active.i had half dozen in my 29g but they drove my lemom tetras and bloodfins and others absolutely crazy.no harm was done but the other fish were terrified.i finally got them out of the 29 into a 10g.the danios chased each other also but no harm was done.wish i hadnt got mine.allwet...

I actually like my danios, just try to get other fish that share their zest fo speed. :) Rainbows do well and some barbs do well with them as well. I've had rosey barbs with them in the past. Cories do well as do pictus cats, your tank is a little small for the pictus though. Smaller loaches are usually ok as well.

What do you think of adding some platties or swordtails? Are these fish okay tank mates or will any problems arise?
