stocking suggestions

where would i be able to get that and aproximately how much would it cost?

I'd look into PC lighting. How wide across is the tank? Big Al's online carries a wide variety of power compact strips you could choose from.

well i have one problem the tankins 20 inches wide i didnt reallysee anything that size, unless i missed it, i think i have the stocking ideas settled out. i think im going to go with :
2 bolivian rams
6 black neon tetras
3 penguin tetras
6 panda corys

and i was thinking a school of Black Phantom tetras 6 most likely or 6 harlequin rasboras

how are the compatibilitys of all the fish i stated above, dont worry i didnt buy these fish yet im jsut asking

It looks like a good group, but I would likely have 6 penguins since tetras seem to do better in groups of that size or bigger. Yes, 20 inch strips are somewhat a pain to find. If you already have a top and light strip for it, how about trying AH Supply and check into their reto kits? I know they have a kit that will work for 20 inch light strips and hoods.

I think you could manage to get the black phantoms in a 42 gallon tank still.

cool cool one more question and i swear im done, a school of 6 harlequinh rasboras instead of the penguins? ok ok i lied would i be able to putt off a giant rockwork without worrying about hte middle caving or schould i go artificial?

Sure, do rasboras instead. And no idea on the rockwork. I've never made any.

i was thinking a sort of cave dome effect with some amazon swords around it and some smaller plants, but from taht website you gave me what package would best suite my purpose necause with wattagw per gallaon and plants i am quite perplexed, wow whata greatword

Try ebay for a 20" or 24" compact fluorescent. Search under "compact fluorescent" or "24" power compact". You can also try hello lights. http://www.hellolights.com/comfluorsys.html

I am selling a new 30" Power compact fixture but I guess that would be a little big for your tank.
