stocking tank questions!!

I've had my 29 gallon tank running for 11 months. I currently have a male swordtail and eight glowlight tetras in the tank. I want to add my male betta in the 29 gallon. I am just lost as to what else I should put in there.

I will not buy anymore swordtails because the females always become males on me.

cories die on me too.

any other suggestions??

I will be quarantining the fish first in a 10 gallon tank a few at a time for a couple of weeks a piece.

Also, my LFS only has common kinds of fish..no rare ones. thanks!

a nice shoal of 4 khuli loaches will fill up the bottom nicely.

oh yes!!! I've always wanted one of those!!!!! 4 would be good?? I have always loved those!!

yeah.... they are pretty small when you first get them but they grow up to be 4" long.

actually you could do 5, maybe.

good idea! I do not have sand substrate but I do have smaller aquarium rocks. Also I have live plants and I think its called java moss...I hope they like those!!

Will my betta get caught in the java moss??? I've had some fish get caught and die in it. Should I tame it down? cause its covers maybe 1/4 of the tank.

I have moss covering the entire bottom of my tank in a thick carpet and no deaths yet.
