stocking

What about dwarf corys and the platys? The platys are livebearers, so prepare for young. Habrosus or pygmy corys, though? You could do more, and they are 500x as active as normal cory cats. A lot of people hate Petco, I know, but I love my local chain store as of their recent aquatic revival. The one by my place is crazy clean and has an awesome stock; I'm taking panda garra, syno cats, discus, gudgeons, stiphodons, crazy stuff! They currently have $1 habrosus and pygmy corys at mine, which is a ridiculous price. I bought a wrestling halfbeak for $2.50 on impulse, lol (super cool fish, but they require some special accommodations due to the beaks). I love my LFS, but man those prices for those fish....anyways, get your heart 100% set on a stock list so that you don't have to rehome :)

cheers,
Okay, they look really cool! I think it would be great to add a half dozen pygmy corys to my tank, because they won't take up as much space in my tank as regular corys! I have a Petco near me, maybe 30 minutes away. I'll check them out! So...
-4 platys
-5 glofish tetras
- 6 Habrosus corys
Would that be overstocked?

IMO, tight, but do-able.

Sorry that I keep changing my mind about what fish to get. It's just that these fish will probably live a few years and I want to get the right ones! I definitely want 4 platys and 5 glofish tetras. But, I really like mollys and dwarf gouramis too.....Maybe:

-5 glofish tetras
- 4 platys
- 2 mollys
- 1 dwarf gourami
- 6 Habrosus corys

I have the feeling that's overstocked..... I listed the fish in order from favorite to least favorite. I know that probably one fish species I'll have to not get. Which one should it be?

I also think it would be a little tight with the larger bodied glo tetras. Have you thought about maybe the glo danios instead? I'm sure its doable as long as you keep up with your water changes though.

Edit: Your new list is definitely over stocked. You'll have to decide what you really want and cut it down.

Okay, yeah, I thought that my new list was overstocked. Even though the danios are smaller, I prefer the tetras. So how about this:
- 5 glofish tetras
- 4 platys
- 1 dwarf gourami
- 6 habrosus corys

If that is wayyyyyy to overstocked and it won't work then maybe I could do:
- 5 glofish tetras
- 4 platys
- 2 mollys
- 1 dwarf gourami

I'll definitely keep up on 50% water change weekly, especially since the tank will be tight.

With these stocks, I see some problems :( typically I do this when picking stock, regarding when starting a tank:

schooling fish (6 glofish would be fine)
centerpiece fish (gourami would be fine)
oddballs (your 2 mollys)

I know it's not a lot, but your tank really isn't that large :(

Could I only get 5 glofish, and instead of getting the 2 mollys get four platys? I like the platys a lot better than the mollys.

You could do that, sure! :) that's a good and high stock right there.

Platys are better then Mollies in a 20gal. So your stock will be
-4 platys
-5 glofish tetras
- 6 Habrosus corys
