Stop platies from breeding?

Geeze, i have some beautiful platys in my planted tank...Fat, healthy buggers that are very active and atractive against the natural green foligage...To each their own i guess

what I mean by ruin is that IMO they can look ugly and can make the tank look less impresive (i don't think that they have any negative afects on the tank other than looks) . however this is based on personal opinion, i'm sure that some people think that they look good.

hmmm I see no ugly fish here.

In defense of Platys, there are not too many affordable hardy fish that will give you as much variety and activity...

black skirt tetras should eat all the babies. it works for guppys

I hate to say this... Telecubby is right. My Blackskirt tetras gobble up my mollies. At first I tried to save the fry. You know how us girls can be... But now I just let nature take it's course. I love my Mollies and won't give them up, so if one or two fry survive I give them away to new homes.

Postscript: The male was traded in at the LFS, and my mother is going to take the risk on how many more litters might be cultivating inside her female platy
