Stop platies from breeding?

what I mean by ruin is that IMO they can look ugly and can make the tank look less impresive (i don't think that they have any negative afects on the tank other than looks) . however this is based on personal opinion, i'm sure that some people think that they look good.
hmmm I see no ugly fish here.

I think he meant that DIVIDERS ruin a tank, not platys.

exactly what i meant. I think platys are some the most fantastic lookeing fish around!!

I hate to say this... Telecubby is right. My Blackskirt tetras gobble up my mollies. At first I tried to save the fry. You know how us girls can be... But now I just let nature take it's course. I love my Mollies and won't give them up, so if one or two fry survive I give them away to new homes.

Well, colour me stupid lol :duh: ...I thought you were referring to the fish lol! Couldnt figure out why someone would find them that ugly!

Actually that was the way I read it at first, also - feeling silly that I didn't read more closely. :look:

Postscript: The male was traded in at the LFS, and my mother is going to take the risk on how many more litters might be cultivating inside her female platy :)

Thanks to all who replied!
