Well I haven't had anything happen with my tank in almost a month but I just stopped by to say thanks again for all the help I've gotten here. Since my betta died of, I'd guess of age + living thru a cycle and stress of new tank mates(mini cycle I think, just didn't test for it, I SHOULD HAVE!), every thing is still going good. I have a problem with brown algea but my solo otto cleans it up when I fast the tank once a week. Thanks for the tip on that breed :) . I love the little fellow. Even gave him the rare distinction of being a named fish. Well anyways I'm running with 7 neons, 4 white clouds, 3 bronze corys and one otto in the old 29g. Aside from seeing very little of the corys now that the betta isn't charging them I have one heck of a nice community tank. So thanks again everyone. I'm sure I'll be back if I ever get that darn 10 gallon tank up... been working on that for uhm... months... Guess now that the bettas gone I have no reason to put it up as it was going to be his home :sad .

(Here's to getting that HUGE tank some day *raises a glass*)

Glad things are going well for ya! You could always setup the 10 gallon for a new betta ya know. There is a neverending supply of bettas that need to be saved from their little cups :D

I'll drink to that!

How about getting a few more Otos in there? I think that your tank is lightly stocked enough to put 2 more Otos in. They like to school a little, so it would be good for the lone one to have a couple buddies.

Actually I was thinking of adding a dwarf gouramy in there as the centerpeice fish since the betta died. I'm just not sure if it'd fit into the tank or not. I don't want to over stock the darn thing lol. Almost bought a neon blue one tonight but decided against it untill I had more time to mull over it.

Well, it's good to not be impetuous.

You're really lightly sotcked right now, although, this is comming from someone who likes his tanks really lightly stocked. Is it planted? I missed whether your original post mentioned that or not.

A dwarf gourami would be a nice centrepiece, would probably help to keep the neons schooling too. My rummynoses sometimes start to spread out until they see the betta, then they snap back into a school.

It's not planted yet. I doubt it will have any live plants for a good while either I haven't had enough time to read into what all I need to have or watch for with them or to test as often as I think I'd need to. I was thinking of adding one to see what effect it has on water chemistry but all I can get is java fern. Not what I really want.
I'm not to worried about the neons schooling LOL. When my betta was arround they all hid in the fake plants I have. Stock wise though do you think I could fit 2 dwarfs in of differnt breeds? I like the light stock as well but I've missed having a big fish in the tank to draw your attention.
