This stuff is so durable, it's amazing. I started with a sandwich baggie of the stuff, and now it's propagating in four tanks. Probably have a small pail of it now, and it needs very little attention. Even people like me can get it to grow, which means you will be even more successful, and I mean that in every good way.
Breeding net for a month is a-ok; it will actaully thrive! Heck, a week in a tupperware bowl on the windowsill, stirring it daily would work, too...and it would probably propagate there if you used tank water and tossed in some of your water changes into it.
