It's strange to me at least. It's out during the day. That's strange in itself, but not the thing.

I noticed the center is flating and deflating. I've never seen this before. I haven't been target feeding it, but have been dropping mysid and brine shrimp into the tank at night, as well as shrimp meat once.

I just moved and changed CC to DSB. My green brittle star was big and health before the move. He now has two grayish spots on his body. He acts slower and doesn't react as agressively to food. Anyone know if he is dying?

how do water tests look? The stars are pretty sensative to changes," especially sudden ones", in water quality. The inflating and deflating is a stress reaction I'd keep a pretty close eye on them they tend to go down hill fast and sort of melt down. have you noticed if you clow in harrasing them Mine ate a couple arms off of my ornate brittle and I had to move the clown to another tank.

This thread is basically

This thread is basically a 911 call for help...it's too late now, it's gone. :shake: no no nO!!

YES! accept it!

it hurts...it hur...ts :sad

So, the water conditions appear fine. The nitrates are about 8 although.

We had changed the tank, and there weren't any completely dark caves for him during the day. Would a bristle star stress out if he's in the dark, but it's not completely dark???? There were coverings, but openings on both sides.

Sounds like a problem with acclimating it. How long have you had it? and have you done any sudden changes in water quality, like increasing the salt level or some such rappidly?
