I have had this tank running with averages of 7.0pH, CO2 has been steady around 10ppm (DIY) and the KH has been slowly dropping to 2.9 (most recent low). Yesterday I added about 1/3 cup of crushed coral to my internal filter to try to raise this level. After several hours the KH reached 4.8 and this morning is 5.1, but my pH has remained the same (7.0). This leads me to beleave my CO2 concentration is also rising (now over 15ppm!). This cannot be right, can it? I haven't changed the brew and it's only about a week old. Can someone explain?

Sumpin', the numbers don't lie. Just keep an eye on the kH. I've always added coral in increments of tsps. Try to stabilize it between 4 and 5. Just my opinion.

I just thought I might add, to check and make sure your test kits are up - to - date. Fresh test kits are nice... :)

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure it's fine. It has been very stable and has reacted predictably to adding crushed coral. Each of my tanks always measure the way they should, which is different from each other.
