just after some other advice. I recently purchased my first oscar he's about 3" now the problem is once I get him home his eyes got a bit cloudy like a bacterial infection, now this seems to have cleared itself up on a few days and is now fine but the other problem is he apears to have 2 lines of white spots near to the base of one of his pectoral fins. they are like smll white lumps in two lines about 3 millimeters apart with about one mil gap between each spot if that makes sense. I guessed at white spot so increased my temp which is how I've treated whitespot in the past but after several days of this there is no change. I asked my LFS and they said a temp change should have sorted this and perhaps its just the fish's markings. its just they are such neat little rows and he dosent have any other white spots on him. He seems perfectly happy and isnt rubing himself against anything so just wanted to know what you think?
I wondered if maybee, when I got him his pectoral fin was quite shredded from him being bullied and if it might be some sort of scar tissure where the fin is reparing/regrowing?
Also I have noticed people on here saying about adding salt to help white spot I have never tried this, I understand its 1 teaspoon per 2 gallons??? but what sort of salt. I cant use the medications you see as I have a fire eel.
Thanks for any advice.
