I wouldn't risk it. The site itself says most of those solutions are more likely to harmful to fish than to the hydra.

are you raising fry in that tank? if not, there's no real reason to get rid of them. theyre only dangerous to the smallest upon small of fish.
 
cool!,i wish i had some of those! too bad you,re getting rid of them though.in the meantime anybody know of an online plant seller known for hydras hiching a ride on the plants?
 
they're eating all of my baby shrimps :( I had 3-4 victims today!!!! poor lil guys
