don't bother with it, have paitence and it will go away. I have had all sorts of algae problems with my tanks, all I had to do was wait for it to use up it's nutrients and it will go away, usually folowed by normal green algae (good). The second algae pic looks like cyanobacteria, I have a different variety of it in my reef and it, like all the other algaes I had, has finally started going away now. It's suposedly caused by nitrates bottoming out (wich by the way, my reef is in about that range)but I have'nt looked into that much, with 6 tanks I tend to not care about algae unless it's killing something (such as hair algae growing off corals). As for the fish, have you considered some kind of gourami(my favourite kind of fish, just had to ask)? don't know if youv'e already gone here, but age of aquariums is a really good fish site who's info I trust.
