Can you over dose on stress zyme? How quickly dose it take effect? After using it the ammonia dosent show up in tests, right?

pretty sure you can't overdose, but other than that I don't remember much about stress zyme, its not a water conditioner right (as in removes chlorine, etc), it just claims to stimulate slime coat, etc? If not, its probably useless, except for an occasional situation. some of the water treatments can effect readings, not sure about stress zyme, sorry!

On the bottle it says
benefits: Contains miollions of live bacteria that speed the development of the biological filter to eleminate ammonia an nitrite
When to use: Whenver setting up, or to maintain fresh and saltwater aquariums.

IMO, probably not worth much. other than biospira, there isn't much bacteria that can help from a bottle and water changes are the best way to deal with ammonia and nitrite/nitrate. Are you having a specific problem?

Yeah I had an ammonia spike a few days a go and am having truble getting rid of it. I have added stuff to neutralize the ammonia and did a 50% water change yesterday I did a 25%. My black moor who is quirky and rather congnitively unfortunate ramed in to the hose and now he has a circle of scales missing. The other fish swam right by with out a prob. I got him one of those plastic breading things to put him in next water change. Thrusday I was putting water in the new Penguin bio wheel 350 he swam right in to the cup I was using. I almost poured him in. Guess theres not alot of room for a brain between thoe big bulgy eyes.

water changes are your best defense against ammonia and nitrite, it can be a pain, but just keep with it and test you water and keep both at or very close to 0. Stress zyme won't hurt, but a quality water conditioner like prime will be your best bet.
