i have a 55 gal with american cichlids in it and they seem to be stressed out. the water is perfect 0 0 5 and the temp is about 77 and it seems they like to pick on the same fish over n over, is there a way to calm them down?

ph is around 6.5 the list of fish are in my signiture, the tank has been up n running for about a month now...today was a calmer day, no fights broke out...so i think it was just because of the new additions of the 2 angels...but like i said they were calmer today.

I agree with nolapete
if the 55 is the one you have listed.. that is not a good combination of fish.

which do u think is bad for the tank? all the fish are pretty good right now...not attacking anyone, its heavily planted and many many places to hide...all the fish are no more then 2.5 to 3 inches the shark i had to take out cause he had fungal infection so im nurseing him back to health...but all in all it was justed the stressed out from the new arrivals but everyone is minding there own business now...i know there are people out there that know more then me about cichlids and stuff, and this is not to disrespect them but when u say a bad combination of fish togeather, dont u think the fish will learn to addapt to its surroundings, not only the water but the tank mates...not just oh this ones bad to be with this one...u dont think they will get used to eachother eventually. hope i didnt offend anyone.

1 albino tiger oscar - doesn't belong in a planted tank...will soon outgrow your tank too

1 pleco - what type?

4 angel fish - doesn't belong with any of the other fish you have except maybe the pleco

1 Jack Dempsy - most likely is or will become a bully depending on sex

1 pink convict, 1 stripped convict - if male and female, they will spawn creating problems as they defend territory

1 iridecent shark - gets far too big for your tank

me being a beginner at cichlids think its time to realize that ill probably bring the oscar, jack and two convicts to aquarium adventures to see if they will take them... n restock the tank. thank you for all ur help
