Hello there!

We bought a panda catfish yesterday. When we got it home we noticed it has a green tear shaped thing stuck to it's belly. This thing has no fins or anything obvious other than eyes. Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks,

Skoe

Wow, a green tear shaped thing? And you usre thers no fins or anything, and its alive?

I have not seen it moving by itself but it is clearly attached to the belly of the panda. There are no fins but it does appear to have a scaly skin. I am baffled!

Yea Could be actually.

Wouldn't it be black then? If it is a leech wouldn't it fall of when full? It doesn't appear to be getting any larger.

Is it a female? Some look like they have a lump underneath when they are spawning.

I would consider bagging it (the fish and the critter) up and taking it to the pet store to ask them about it. if you don't want to do that, maybe go to the store and see if any other fish of that type have anything similar or if any other fish there have them. if they do point it out and let the grand inquisition begin
