very true. In the meantime before embarking on your dream path, you could change jobs to a company that might value you better. I recently switched jobs, but still am in IT. Just starting at a new job is refreshing, and this place has less hours, overtime, and values creativity. Sure its the same old Visual Studio this, and SQL server that, but at least its better than my last environment, which sounds like your present situation.
Soon I hope to change paths or at least go back to school for an MBA to stop being in such a nerdy industry, but for right now this is better than where I was last fall. Comm college classes might offer some insights or at least a break from your current happenings (that is if you have time).
