I am new to aquariums and have 2 blackfin sharks, I've had them for about 3 months now and untill now they have been great. My problem is I noticed yesterday thats they both have this "stuff" on them, it looks kinda like they are shedding is the only way I can describe it. None of my other fish have this on them so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is something normal for this type of fish, and if not do you know what I can do to fix them?

Thank you

Please post a picture so i can be sure but i am guessing by your description that it is velvet disease or maybe skin slime disease.

if the fish have a fine grey coating on body and/or fins this is skin slime disease. The fish may also be scratching.

Velvet disease is a golden velvety coat on body/fins, this may cause the fish to scratch and breath faster/increased respiration.

To get your fishies back to normal health you should check all parameters and if it one of these 2 diseases i have told you about go to the lfs and find a remidy.

Good Luck

my poor fishes

Boy, it is harder then I realized to get a picture of a fish! between the fish moving and the flash (which is automatic), but I got a couple and enhanced them the best I could I hope you can see what I am talking about.

pictures didn't go through?

Ok my pictures did not come through on the reply I posted, how do I add pictures on here?
