which is why I'm becoming more and more a fan of using the scientific names or L numbers for Plecos. My petsmart has all kind of plecos, but I aint got a clue as to who or what they are because I don't have a laptop to look through Plant Catfish.
Mine has the rubberlips listed as Thomasii, obviously not what they are. But the L187b is deff what they are selling.
And I don't think my BN is quite as common as its being listed, Hes got gold spots all over him and is not matching up to the BN on Planet Catfish. I'm gonna try to get pics of him though.
I write down as much info as the store has & sometimes even make a simple sketch to show distinctive marking like dorsal spots, tail shape, etc.
There are lots of variation in the "common" BN. There are some gold spotted ones here http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=49
