Stupid 1g tank....

Schizo, I think the OP has already accidentally offed a few shrimp in that tank. I like pond snails...cheap, easy, small, and love room temp.

Well, I may not be able to make any suggestions on fish, but I can tell you daphnia could thrive in that. We had to make cultures of them for a research class I took and we used 1 gallon glass pickle jars. No heating. No filtration. Just duckweed on top and plant matter on the bottom. They'll do just fine.

LOL....We are thinking the same! I raised a super sensitive kind of daphnia for research last year, and I was thinking that a hardy spp. could live in a 1g just fine. I started reading up raising them at home last night. I think I could do it.

Think my danios and tetras would enjoy some live daphnia?

I have an empty one gallon as well, where do you get daphnia? None of the fish store's in my area sell live food (except feeder fish). One sold brine shrimp but he stopped because he has to drive to miami to get them and with gas prices he was loosing money on them.

Caity, I would imagine that you could get them from Carolina Biological Supply, but there's probably a fishkeeping source for them, too.
