Stupid Skimmer Question

Can I skim wet, and keep topping off with fresh saltwater to replace what is pulled out like a gradual constant water change?

Or does the brown liquid have some of the salt strained out of it, which would lead to the salinity in the main tank gradually increasing?

I always replace skimmate with water.

So do I but, I don't replaice it in the skimmer I replaice it in the main tank. Yes, it has some salt in it so I replaice with s.w.

p.s. keep an eye on you s.g. though I've never ever even had a thousanth of a point variation as soon as I tell you it's impossible that's what will happen though.

I just add the approx amount of saltwater skimmed out to the main tank. I'll keep an eye on the SG.

If you are only pulling out small amounts between water changes then you are probably good using freshwater. If oyu are pulling out large sumes of skimmate then saltewater replacment might be the best choice.
