Substrate for peacock eel

I have a 5" peacock eel in a quarantine tank and would like to move it to my 50gal planted tank. The substrate is mostly flourite with some gravel.
Is this suitable for the eel? The kuhli loach is doing fine in it, but it is smaller in diameter.
