Apple and mystery snail shells also work... maybe you can grab some empty ones from your LFS out of thier snail tank.

I like neothauma shells cus they are the natural shell from lake tang.

Hermit crab (unpainted) shells at the LFS are a good option. I don't think their too expensive and my brevises like them.

off the topic, but what did you use for that crazy piece of drift wood in your krib breeding tank LuvMyKribs? did you buy it or find it and if you bought it where?

Found it on the beach Its actually a peice of root i think. Possibly part of a blackberry bush or something, not quite sure. but its neat!

what did yo do to make it tank safe?

Boiled it in a large pot for a couple hours. Mostly to remove the tannin that would make the tank water change color. If its a thick peice of wood then longer is better.... but yah boiling is the best way to clean it.

I dont like bleaching wood... the bleach might soak in. hehe
