Thanks for all the information. My ph is just above 5.5 as for the nitrite, nitrate and amonia. They are all zero's across the board. I went ahead and added about an inch of gravel (same stuff i pulled out plus a minor rinse) I will have to see what things do in the next few days.

If your nitrates are zero, you are in a cycle again. Watch your parameters closely over the next few days.

In order to get your cycle going, you will need to raise the PH level.

Adding crushed limestone to your filter in a nylon bag will assist in bring up the level.
