Hi!

I'm thrilled because my Crowntail bettas babies hatched this morning! We took the mom out and the dad is doing exactly what he should be doing, picking the babies that have fallen from the bubble nest. I counted 70+ fry so hopefully the majority of those will survive. They're going to be a nice medium metallic blue colour. I'm so excited! Anyone else breed?

I love breeding them, but I'll probably end up selling a few to my LFS. Hopefully most will be crowntails so they're worth a bit more than the veiltails. It's hard to part with them, but I obviously can't keep them all.

I used to. Not to question your research or anything but you do know that the 'tail' feature is in the female not the male right? (I honestly don't mean to be an ***. Sorry if I sound like it.)

Well, I think Daddy ate some while I was at work (this was a few days ago), but I still have at least 20 left, they are active little buggers too :)
Don't worry, we removed him as soon as we could. This will be okay though, now maybe I don't have to get rid of any :)

I have tried breeding bettas and been unsuccessful. Do you have any advice or any special things you do? Could you possibly tell me how to do it or give me a link of a good site?

An awesome site is bettatalk.com. She is very experienced and has almost anything you can think of thats related to bettas on her site.
