Such thing as too many wpg?

Anyway sorry for tangent run. I'm guessing the light has 2 bulbs, what about running them on diff timers and have an effect of the afternoon sun. If you can do that.

Hmmmm...might work but I would have to check.

PHEW!

I have been outbid! So guess there is no problem. Sorry for all of this but I actually learned a lot about co2, which I will continue to look into, so thank you! I will find a more suitable fixture for my tank :)

Btw, I was going on $1 for a while then someone ended up winning it for 30 at the last moment. Not sure why the upped it so much but oh well, not my problem anymore!!! :D

I have 5.1 wpg on a 10g tank with diy co2 and a glass diffuser and everything grows like mad. There is no algae in the tank, but that may be due to the tons of snails and shrimp. I only fertilize indirectly by feeding the fish/snails/shrimp.

So basically you have 7 watts on a 1 gallon tank? That isn't going to do anything...Higher light plants would just die in that. You have to think about the minimum light threshold in smaller tanks. As stated before the watt per gallon rule doesn't work in tanks smaller than 20 gallons. So 7 watts is nothing.

Wpg rule does not apply to tanks that small.

redline makes a co2 using pb tanks(paintball) while not the best system it works well and the whole set up cost 160 including a tank.

it is the complete set up..including a reactor, needle valve, bbl counter solenoid etc

if I had the room I would use the larger tanks and you can get the parts seperately and higher quality without spending a ton.

And why did you reference my post? That's what I was saying...
because someone said that they had 5 wpg on 10 gallons...your post said that wpg doesnt apply to smaller tanks. Was just pointing that out to them :)
