Suggestions for a Challenging 10G?

Its a bit small but you might be able to squeeze one of the small angler species in there, they are an interesting species that doest require a lot of swimming room

One of the semi-local guys in my club opened a part time shop. Great guy, he has captive raised H. redi Seahorses. I saw his 20g high seahorse tank after this photo was snapped. He has painted the background red in order to get them to get more yellow...and it has worked. He also keeps macro algae floating at the top of the tank which of course helps filter some of the light too. Not only does this give a huge area for the pods to breed at the top but because they are captive raised he also feeds them mysid shrimp. They go nuts for it swimming around after them. Later on I saw him shake the macro aglae and once again the horses swam around and latched on to the macro to dine.

I also have another LFS that sells captive raised pixie seahorses, another fabulous guy. He is bad about updating his site, but this is my number one source locally for coral and captive bred fish. He doesn't have the pixies on the site, but he definitely carries them and I've seen the babies right after they were born. : http://www.coraldynamics.com/clownfish.htm

Thanks for all the info Grins. Makes me want to try sea horses even more. Maybe I will upgrade my tank to a 20G high since it has the same surface dimensions as my 10G. That way I won't have to replace the stand and I can convince my parents its the same tank xD I will just have to get it when they are out of town and bribe my sisters to keep their mouths shut.

Hahaha, I would shy away from that too. Mine actually has them in pretty often. Not sure what type, but they were $35 each, a decent price.

you are definatly going to want to know the species, as the only ones i would really consider putting in a 10 gallon would be pixies. But they are very sensitive and are TINY.

I concur, a wartskin would probably be good....
