suggestions for a schooling type fish

I'm anal about keeping them clean...can't stand a dirty looking tank...in my house anyway...lol...

Fish Breeder...I tried danios once....I don't think I ever want to get anymore of those...lol...they drove me nuts..never stopped moving, constantly on the go. Made me nervous everytime I looked at my tank ! I still have one of the creatures left...he's in the "junk" tank with two female bettas...(it's a tank I have for oddball fish that have to be moved for one reason or another...) All the rest of the danios just wasted away and died for some reason..but this one just keeps pluggin along. :rolleyes:

I'll have to look up the dojos..I know I have read about them somewhere recently.....I do need a bottom cleaner in here since I took the cories out...not sure how the rams will like someone else taking thier space though..
 
I would not go with dojos, they are big and restless not a good combo in a planted tank. I would go with panda cories as a bottom feeder they never disrupt any of my stuff but I believe that you have those already if I remember correctly... so hard to remember what people have and such. Rummy nose tetras work beautifuly. They are also good because you can tell when the quality of your water is good since that is when they will have the brite red nose... kinda works as an aquarium canary. If you like the whole gourami thing maybe you could go with honey gouramis they are a lot smaller and actually a heck of a lot more peaceful I dont know if your dwarfs are mean but mine were some of the meanest fish ever. I have marble hatchets as well and they are very nice, dont move a whole lot but look neat since you can see the reflection off of the top of the water it has a neat effect, and someone said that they stay smaller than the silver variety that is correct. Another thing you may want to try is get a couple of male threadfin rainbows... they always will show off than and it is absolutely gorgeous when they do... plus they are not all that typical

sorry I did not realize you took the cories out this prob was the tank that had them in there... rams hate bottom feeders as im sure you know since you are in my mind one of the few ram experts on this forum either that or your just real lucky but Im going to go w/ the 1st... Also I second what you say about danios, at least if your talking about the "giant ones"

Harlequin Rasboras

I have 6 of the Harlequin Rasboras in my 20g and they are awesome. Their colors really come out nicely when they are in the tank (didn't look as bright at the lfs). They are great schoolers and are quite active.
