Suggestions for low-maintenance tank

Everywhere around me, I've seen them in the 1-2 dollar range. Never seen them offered as feeders.

i want something low-maintance because i dont have a ton of time

I'm going to guess that 'low-maintance' means not having to do regular water changes. At least it does in my book because I belong to that club.

Algae is the result of a combination of too much of the wrong type/amount of light combined with excessive nutrients as a result of the by product of the biological cycle. Aka...nitrate.

More frequent water changes are really the only practical means to reduce nitrate in a typical, non-planted tank. However, a lot of water changes can dump other nutrients from your municipial water supply into the tank that other types of algae thrive on.

My advice would be to plan on more regular water changes if you want a healthy tank, and make sure that the bulb you are using is for fish only and not for plants.
