suggestions for pump and overflow

I wasnt sure if joining the two hoses together would be too much pressure coming in from one hose or not. And I was assuming the purpose of the rock was to absorb the impact of the water rushing in, is that not the case? Or is that what the bubbles you mentioned would come from, from the water coming in? And with that aqua lifter thing, do you always leave it running or only when you start a siphon?

i leave my aqualifter running all the time. Yes the purpose of live rock rubble is to break up the flow of incoming water and trap microbubbles so they can rise instead of staying in the water and getting pumped back into the tank.

Eh, it looks a little thin for my taste but it will probably work fine. I like glass baffles myself, but no reason you cant use plexi. It isn't that expensive and with it pre-cut it will save you a little time. Like you said, if you don't like crafting things yourself, the few extra $ it costs to have it pre-cut will be worth it. It looks like your paying $39 for 8 pieces of pre-cut plexiglass and 2 bulkheads.

Agreed, there are plenty of pictures of sump setups, if you're going to install the glass yourself anyway, just figure out what you want and get it cut, save yourself some money.
