I have a 5 gallon metal framed slate bottom tank. It houses a variety of snails and shrimp and I've had it set up for over a year. I have a 10w bulb over the tank and I don't dose ferts due to my shrimp.
Now I had to remove some plamts that weren't doing as well as I had hope to my 20 long which has higher lighting and does get ferts. Since then I've had some hair algae start growing. At first it was nice looking but now it's a little much. So I'm on the look out for a low light nutrient sucker to help out compete the algae. I like horwort but it floats and it's too messy, wisteria didn't do very well in this tank but it might have been due to placement.
Rigtht noe the tank has some anubias (that do very well), moss, moneywort(which is slowly being eaten by my tylos), and some java fern which is not doing well.
