My 75 is drilled on the bottom also. What the guy I got it from did was put a bulkhead in 1 of the 1.5" holes and also in the 3/4" hole. He ran clear PVC up to the top and cut it at the level he wanted the water. The 3/4" fitting was the return from the filter. If I don't reuse the clear PVC and just go with the white I will find a way to hide it in plants. He had it as salt. In my wall it'll be fresh. 40 Gallon sump for it already bought at the past Petco sale.I feel confident about building the sump now, and think it will be lots of fun.
I believe the larger challenge is going to be designing and building a proper overflow.
Since the tank is drilled from the bottom I'll have to have hoses or pipes in the tank
to connect to the overflow(s), which will be very difficult to hide. :-(
For now I have 2 bags of bio cubes in the filter and after adding bio booster it seems to be performing well.
