For those that have built there own sumps, or if u have any sort of insight, Do I have to cement and/or join the PVC pipes together with anything? I mean like the elbows to the ends and whatnot, ya know what i mean???

thats what i used. make sure you do a dry fit first, i screwed up my first set of standpipes that way when i realized i glued it wrong.
hehe, of course. I was just checkin to see if some people just put em together and not worry about cementing them, due to the lack of pressure being put thru them, well, for the intake anyways, just gravity, but the return for sure would need sealing.
