Hey guys. I just set up my sump today with a Gen-X PCX-40 as my return pump and I must say that this pump is LOUD! Its so loud that I can hear it throughout the entire downsairs of my house. Any thoughts as to how to reduce the noise without replacing the pump? Are your pumps loud at all for your returns? This is really bothering me because my tank is in my living room and i really did not expect it to be this loud at all. Thoughts? Thanks.:feedback:

What do you have the pump resting on? sometimes, you can get away with a foam barrier between the base of the pump and whatever its resting on, that could reduce the noise if its a vibration noise. Of course, there is also the possibility that it has a fault too....have opened the pump up and inspected it at all??
