Sump Question

Ok, here goes. I'm Still in the planning stage, so keep in mind this is all just an information gathering quest.

The generals that I am looking at for my set up are: 72 gallon bow front tank, 20 - 30 gallon DIY Wet/Dry sump, planted community tank.

My question is, how much flow should I be looking to put through the sump? i.e. what size pump should I be looking at?

Personally, for a planted tank, I'd use a 300 to 400gph pump.....and NO MORE. You don't want too much current and even with head dropping the flow a bit, you should still have plenty of turnover.
