While doing some reseach over on reefcentral, i had found that due to the nature of feeding these advanced (to the beginner) corals in a fish aquarium, it was best to feed them through the use of a so-called feedin dome. does anyone have any other information and/or etailers for these?
Thanks all.
I don't know about that. I let the polyps swell a little and open up, then remove the rock from the tank and feed it in a separate container. I wake it up, as it has been trained to do, with coral food then I feed each mouth a piece of mysis shrimp. Very tedious, but the only way they'll survive without an abundance of mysis in the tank.
Whatever method you use whether isolating it in the tank with some tupperware or taking it out altogether, the key is to prevent fish and others from stealing the sun coral's food.
An easy DIY target feeder is to cut off the top of a 2-liter, then just position it over the coral, take a straw (or whatever your using) and put it in the hole, then put the food through the straw.
