Sun Snail

These snails are from Milliac right? I don't think his nerites are from Suwalesi.
His supplier probably says they are, but I highly doubt it. Many of the nerites he carries that claims to have been from suwalesi just doesn't add up when you think about it. Like the zebra snail, big line zebra, tracked snail and this clithon. They're all snails that have been out already, before the big "suwalesi era" that's going on right now. Isn't it strange that these same snails supposedly appear in the suwalesi lake?
I don't like Milliac is lying or anything though. If his supplier said it was from suwalesi, he kinda just has to sell it as that. So if anyone is to blame for the misinformation, it'd be the source of where Milliac gets his stock.

I'm pretty certain this is souleyetana.

I picked some of these up from a NSLFS... Most stores near me carry them some time or another

Typo on the first sentence. I'm not sure how I didn't catch that...

I meant, "I don't THINK Milliac is lying or anything though."
I buy from him all the time and he's a great seller :)

oh ok.. I was definitely wondering about that. I have had lost of nerite species and never got any from the Sulawessi like those. His big line and thin line are def N.turreta (From somewhere in Indonesia most likely Java but I'm not sure), the tiger is Vittina turtoni (from Fiji islands area)

But hey check out what he's been saying about these snails.
I got this from one of his latest posts:

They are all from a Lake in Sulawesi which do not have access to the sea.So this are full freshwater snails that breed in a FW lake.

In a species tank, they are supposed to breed. __________________

Pedro's suppliers are definitely advertising these as new snails from Sulawesi, to tie in with all the recent Sulawesi craze to create sales. As I've had some of them for years, I doubt that. Of course, it's possible the same species also exist in those lakes.

It is unlikely that these nerites also exist (coincidentally) in suwalesi and these nerites do NOT breed in fresh. It really sounds like I'm bashing him too much now, haha. Sorry! I'm not trying to.

They are fantastic snails, one of my favorites actually. I really love horned nerites :-) Any kind! But claims of them being found in the suwalesi, claims of them being freshwater and able to breed in freshwater are all inaccurate and false. Sorry to break people's hearts.

True.. the only nerites that I have ever heard of breeding in fresh normally are the european species. Though I have heard of reports of C.corona breeding in africian (lake) tanks. But I think it's due to other salts being present instead of the normal salts found in seawater.

Here are some babies I'm gonna put in my new shrimp tank, some of my other have much nicer spines.

I have the olives in full salt SG 1.018~1.025 but I have forgotten about them and let the SG get to 1.030 with no problem. I've heard of others keeping their nerites in SG 1.016 to breed them
