super glue for broken propeller

i have a fluval 3+ and a fluval 4+ both with broken props, the small plastic disk on the top of the props has come away, and they rattle and drive us crazy, i was just wondering if super glue is safe to use to fix these back in place, or will it harm my fish? :help:

Im going to take a stab and say that super glue will not work long term. Yes you gan use it in your tank so long as you make sure it is completely cured before putting in. Use epoxy

ok, thanks for the quick reply, i dont have any epoxy right now but can get some very soon, so il use the super glue now and get some epoxy as soon as i can for when the super glue fails, itl be after christmas now but at least the rattling will be helped until then. its mainly our bedroom tank, laying their trying to sleep, and the constant nagging rattle from the fish tank at the end of the bed, OH not amused! the other rattley filter is in the living room with 2 other tanks so the air intakes somewhat over shadow the rattling in there, but il do both, as the filter flow seems to be somewhat reduced by that dinky teeny little plastic disk not being attatched. who would have thought such a small thing could make such a difference!

I've used superglue to fix loose impellers before. The paddled part has the little nub that catches on the lower magnet part and that broke off so the magnet would spin but the paddles would not. I just glued them together with superglue and it worked fine. And yes its completely fish safe. I prefer the superglue gel.

many thanks, i have superglued it and silence has fallen lol, what a relief. although the bedroom one didnt have the same problem, it rattles and im not sure why, so we are going to buy a new one and hope it works, both the filters were 2nd hand so i dont expect miracles lol.

i have always had the best luck using the super glue gel its thicker and has lasted many years. the regular super glue is ok if thats all you have on hand but it doesnt seem to hold up long term from my experiences.
