Well, I've started to notice that Super Glue Gel is starting to fail and corals are falling off the plugs. Anyone have a better product for attaching frags to plugs? Also, what is everyone using for epoxy for attaching coral plugs or mounts to live rock?

I know some people use aquamend two-part putty, which you can get at home depot.

What type of corals are you trying to attach?

I'm not one for attaching plugs to LR, so I can't really suggest a product for that. I tend to want to move plugs around too much.

I'll see if they have it here. I know Home Depot doesn't carry an aquarium safe silicon, unless it's in a different department than the paint section.

So far I've got a couple of different corals that have come loose. One that is a real problem is a sponge, another is a CHALICE.

I don't really want to move the frags once I have them in place.

The sponge will be a problem. There's no real practical way to do it, since the the surrounding tissue will die and possibly cause a reaction in the rest of the "colony." Taking it out of the water to dry it also isn't an option. If the sponge does well enough, it should attach itself, however. The chalice, you should be able to take out of the water and dry it slightly. If you can do the same with the rock, all the better. How long do you leave your stronger water motion off?

When the sponge does come loose it is very slimy and very hard to hold on to. I have glued it a couple of times. BUT, then it may not be a sponge at all. A photo is attached. I'll try re-gluing the chalice today. Never turned the water flow down, but do leave the coral in some tank water in a container for about 30 minutes.

That's a tough one. It is a sponge with some commensal zoanthids. The zoanthids don't do well without the sponge, though for whatever reason. I would say if you could get some very thin string and lightly tie it down along with some super glue, that may work. Just be careful to preserve the sponge.
