Careful? I'm all thumbs when it comes to things like this. In my younger days I could tie flies but not so much today. I'll give it a shot, but won't it hurt it to have it out of the water for any extended time?

Yah gel wont work on softies too well thanks to slime coat... LFS uses a tupperware cup like thing...and puts rubble rock in lets them attatch to the rocks and pulls them out using the rubble rocks as the plug.
Save those frag plugs for hard corals ...the technique is simple ..use a paper towel dry off the plug if its wet...dry off the coral body you want to dab glue gel on...surface should be as dry as you can make it...

Don't take it out of the water for any amount of time. You'll have to do everything while underwater.
The sponge is a piece of spider sponge with the white polyps that grow around it. Its the same as in my avi. Mine is slowly wasting away. I have it in very low light and low flow. I think it would do much better in a cave with very little light, and fed an ample amount of phyto every day. It is a cool looking piece and generally does not do well in captivity. Only reason I bought this one was for a filler from ordering from e-bay. I really did not want to ship one piece for 60.00 so the guy threw this sponge in for 10.00 more.
