has anyone ever given thought to getting one of those lobster tanks at the supermarket to make a cool aquarium out of?
Incidentally what does one of them go for?

i would think so, because they have extremely powerful filtration systems to support all of the livestock that is brought into the store

They also have powerful chillers built-in, as lobsters need to be kept quite cool. You can often pick up a used unit for a few hundred dollars, new ones start at about $4500.

New lobster tanks run $4,000 to $18,000 and the bio wheel runs about $800. The high cost is the " custom " design work to look and fit in the store cases.

ok well thanks for the replies but im not even considering anything above 600 for something that small ;)

i saw a marineland lobster tank on ebay starting at 50 bucks a few weeks ago
