"Real-time"?

"The stellar explosion occurred 400 million-light years away."

They saw the process of the Supernova.
"Real-time" just doesn't seem to fit in...
But, astronomers must be ecstatic over this one!

An explosion that occured over 400 million years ago... neat.

I wonder how many things we see in the universe arent really there but appear to be there because the light from said object is still coming to earth even long after it was destroyed? Makes you think.

"There is no Alderaan, that's what I've been saying. It's been compltetely blown away."

Just for others' info....

"In the fictional Star Wars universe, Alderaan is the home of Princess Leia, etc. ..."

so theoretically, (since we already hve the viewing capacity as proved by our sighting of this) if we could send out a sattelite far enough away, we could capture images of the earth's deep past.

Elapsed time will not allow that to happen.
NASA won't allow it either. :(

There are no "real time" video links from space.
NASA banned "real time" video.

And so it goes, our tax dollars are pumped into "unknown" - "censored" space missions.

(what you don't know, can't hurt you mentality)
