I am in love with the superveil angelfish. In particular the ones with extremely long tails. Any color or coloration as long as the tails are ridiculously long. So on to my question, where would I find a superveil with an extremely long tail? Any body know someone who breeds them or of a good place to buy them online or auction site or anything. I'm new to the freshwater side of things and really want to get a school of these fish. Say 10-12. Maybe more.

We breed several super veil strains, they are expensive since they take twice as long to grow out. Putting 10-12 in a tank may be problems in the long run. You will need a pretty big tank to keep 10-12 Adult Super veils and then you must consider that if you put them all into one tank i guarantee you will end up with at least 3 Pairs.

I spoke with a friend who did some freshwater and he said that Angelfish are ok in schools. I take it this isn't so then? What if the fish were all of the same sex? I've seen some beautiful 55 gallons with 6 of those veils in it. Was that an inappropriate proportion. I absolutely do not want to provide an inappropriate home to these fish. Also, my tank is fully planted if that makes a difference.
It all depends on the fish , and the keepers ability to move pairs when formed. We have a 55 BB with 20 adult Super veil Angels , This is the tank we use for pairing, once a pair has formed we move the pair to a new tank. Angels for the most part are very social animals but their are some with extreme personalities they tend to be a hand full and require alot of looking after.

That said you can place angels in schools but need to be aware of the fact that pairs may/will form up.. when this happens the pair will become territorial.

Being a relative newbie I was pretty freaked out the first time I tried pairing adults. I had eight dk. marble super veils in a 150g. tank and they fought like crazy. Lip locking and pecking at each others sides...I was sure that they'd all kill each other, so I took the four roughest characters out and the others settled down within about an hour. The other four weren't pairs, just tryin' to decide who was going to be boss I suppose.
The tank was needed for others so I moved the calmer four and two of the original trouble makers into a bare 5og. and they all do fine. A couple of days later I reintroduced the last two of the fighters and there was about another hour of aggression before everyone settled down.
I have no idea what all of that meant 'cuz I'm not experienced with their behavior yet, but be prepared, their name belies just how rough they can get. I had a small black female take a chunk out of her mates head and kill him a while back, I think because he ate the eggs of their spawn. Scary little wench, he was twice her size.
