surprising assassin snail feeding behaviour (pics)

Interesting concept, at first I was just thinking dumb luck/chance but the whole snail trail idea could definitely be plausible. Thinking of how big and detailed the natural environments are of these two species they could definitely have developed a system to track down their pray.

A lot of people have commented on your photos, they are outstanding, as if the camera was in there with the specimens. Could you, shed some light /wink, on your camera; lens; tank and room lighting?

I've seen the same behavior with my 4 Assassins. I wondered about the slime trail as well.
Assassin snails breed very slowly and in small numbers. I got mine due to a Ramshorn infestation and they wiped them all out in 3 days in a 6 gallon tank. I had to buy more and raise them separately as food.
